Weiss+Appetito is a new StartPort program partner

The Duisburg-based subsidiary of Swiss Weiss+Appetito Services AG Weiss+Appetito Services GmbH has joined the partner network of the duisport subsidiary startport.

As a program partner, Weiss+Appetito supports the startup hub startport in digitizing logistics in the Rhine-Ruhr region. With this cooperation, Weiss+Appetito is also supporting the innovation platform for logistics and supply chain, particularly in terms of content, through its own technical developments.

Digital expertise for StartPort startups

Weiss+Appetito has almost 100 years of experience in the special construction services sector and has been developing since 2015 through the start-up we.digitize within the group, solutions to the challenges of digitization. The focus is on efficient charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and digital locking technology, e.g. for contactless transfer of material along a supply chain. “With startport, a young company from the Rhine-Ruhr region has gained our much appreciated attention because it has the same goals as we do in the area of economic sustainability and technical future orientation,” explains Dr. Walter Daumann, managing director and partner of the Weiss+Appetito Group. “At the same time, the startport concept convinced us, as young entrepreneurs with access to a network of major players in our regional market, to provide a platform to successfully introduce new technologies in the area of logistics and supply chain,” continues Maurice Simkins, head of development at we.digitize.
