startport welcomes 7 new startups to Duisburg's inner port

Duisburg, 06.06.2024 - Innovative sails are once again being set at startport in Duisburg's inner harbor. Seven new startups from the logistics and supply chain sectors are starting their journey today in the new STARTPORT incubator year (Batch #9). The grand opening took place today in the startport coworking space in Duisburg's inner harbor. The six-month incubator program not only promises innovative developments, but also close cooperation with logistics partners and an inspiring working environment in the startport office.

The seven selected startups Green Convenience, HAPTICS, Nanuq, Redcable Robots, SlapStack, PYCK and PALPRINT represent a wide range of technology and logistics solutions in a wide variety of areas of logistics, including the last mile, fleet electrification, industrial cable robots, operating systems for block stack warehouses, warehouse management and 3D printing modules for packaging. These startups will be intensively supported and promoted over the next six months in order to advance their innovative ideas in the logistics and supply chain industry. Back in May, they were able to get a taste of STARTPORT as an exhibitor at FUTURE LOGISTICS, the largest STARTPORT innovation fair at the Duisburg Inland Shipping Museum, and present their innovations to the world of logistics. Full program for startups: customer matching, workshops, etc.

“Logistics involves much more than just the reliable transportation of goods from point A to point B. The diversity and innovative strength of the startups from Batch #9 impressively illustrate the various areas and challenges within the logistics industry. The startups not only present current developments, but also offer an exciting insight into the future and the wide range of opportunities that can still be exploited in logistics,” emphasizes Andrea Peters, startup and community manager at startport.

As part of the incubator program at startport, startups are offered a wide range of resources and support, including the creation of prototypes, individual matching for projects and potential customers, networking with investors, exclusive access to networking events, tailor-made workshops with industry experts, PR and marketing communication, and attractive jobs in a coworking space.

StartPort program kicks off innovative pilot projects and collaborations

Alessandro Benassi, managing director of startport, expressed confidence about the new year: “We are delighted to welcome Batch #9 and are convinced that these startups will inspire the logistics and supply chain industry with their innovative ideas and solutions. In recent years, we have successfully implemented pilot projects with startups from our program and our logistics partners, which often resulted in long-term collaborations. One outstanding current example is the collaboration between the startup ForkOn and our parent company Duisport — Duisburger Hafen AG.”

As a subsidiary of Duisburger Hafen AG, startport has built up a strong partner network over the 6 years of existence. This includes regional players such as Duisburg Intermodal Terminal, Duisburg Business & Innovation, Häger & Schmidt, TanQuid, Rhenus Port Logistics, Yusen Logistics and Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg. These are linked with specific startups in so-called Innovation Challenges and can thus successfully launch pilot projects. This startport format assigns tailor-made innovations to the right companies and promotes development in Duisburg and the Rhine-Ruhr region.
